Soon as class was over, everyone started to pile out. I hugged and said my goodbyes before walking out seeing his Dodge Charger waiting.

“So you not taking the train?” She asked, knowingly.

“I guess not,” I mumbled, both of us walking to his car. This was awkward enough.

“You know you have some explaining to do. Tell me something because I’m not getting in the car with his ass,” she said, nosed turned up. “Are yall dating?”

“No, no,” I hurriedly replied. “We just…had sex and-.”

“What!?”

He blew the horn making us both jump. Okay, now I was getting pissed. Pissed at Tiffany for her dancing on him, for all these dang questions, and for him being impatient. I opened the passenger door.

“You are the one that decided to wait, not me!”

“Well hurry up, I’m taking time out of my life to see you so wrap this chit chat up ma,” he retorted. I rolled my eyes. The coolness of the car AC felt too good to ignore compared to the Atlanta sun beaming down on us.

“I’ll call you,” I said before getting in the car. Soon as we drove off, the arguing began.

“Ma all of that talk ain’t necessary. Chill yo! What the fuck did I do?” He yelled.

“You could have ask my friend if she wanted a ride, especially if you were going to pop up at my job!” The louder he got, the thicker his New York accent became.

“Listen, yo girl got a problem with me. I give no fucks about her. Why would I let her in my car? I don’t put bitches in my car who got an issue with me cuz I’m not trying to hear all of that!”

“Surely didn’t look like it when she danced on you,” I mumbled. I watched as we pulled into a parking space in front of my building. He laughed like I said something funny.

“So you jealous now? What can I say? She had her ass in my face? How am I supposed to react?!” He laughed. I don’t even know why I suddenly care. I got out and walked up to my apartment door. “So you mad now?” He continued, taunting me.

“Whatever Jeremy. I don’t give a crap what you do with her,” opening the door. “I’m sure if you can disrespect me in front my face, no telling what you do when I’m not around so I don’t give a flying crap! You’re single, you can do what you want.”

“I don’t get how I disrespected you! All of those women dancing on a nigga but you trying to focus on yo friend. I don’t want to talk about that bitch,” closing the door behind him. I tossed my bag on the counter before turning to face him. I was mad at myself for even being mad, but something didn’t sit right with me when she danced on him.

“Forget it,” I mumbled as I crossed my arms over my chest, avoiding eye contact. He pulled me closer to him, towering over me with his height.
